Animals DO NOT Belong in Zoos
Greetings! My name is Shaarav Bhatia and I am 10 years old. Have you ever been to a zoo and saw an animal just standing there with its sad face, begging you to help it? Well no, because you have never noticed that aspect of the animals. We are just blinded by the “amazing and natural tricks” the animals do. I am going to tell you why I think that animals do NOT belong in zoos.
Firstly, I am going to talk about habitat. When an animal is hatched or born, it will quickly adapt to its surroundings. So, if an animal has adapted to the wildlife and then put into a zoo, it will be a major change for that creature. Imagine you are living in your house, when a stranger bursts through the door, puts you in a bag and shoves you in a car. When you are finally released from the bag, you are in a cage or on display for everyone to see.
Lastly, I am going to talk about the wellbeing of the animal. When you have a look at an adorable or venomous creature and want to take a photo of it, there will be no one there to stop you. Sure, there’ll be a sign there saying no, but what's it going to do, crush your phone? When you take the photo, it can damage the eyes of the animal, which can cause something serious like permanent blindness. You wouldn’t want to be a victim of that would you?
So, now that you know things that can harm animals in a zoo, try considering whether or not you want to see a whole lot of animal’s begging you to free them when you are just looking at them.
